Chinese Ministry of Education approve collaboration with Activate Learning

04 September 2019

This approval is the result of two years of work developing the relationship with the college in Chongqing, and filing a considerable amount of paperwork with the Chinese MOE!

The approval has come a little too late in the academic cycle in China to recruit students for 2019/20, but we will have plenty of time to support recruitment for students onto our joint programme in China for 2020/21. CCAE expect to have between 100-300 learners on the jointly delivered programme in the first year, all of whom will be studying on a course validated between CCAE and Activate Learning.

For Activate Learning International this represents another great opportunity for our staff to experience teaching in a different country and to engage with a new culture. Ahead of the 2020/21 academic year we will be taking expressions of interest from staff in our Technology faculty wishing to undertake a two week secondment to Chongqing to teach on the Level 5 course.

Now that we have achieved approval from the Chinese MOE on this project we expect that this will open doors to more such staff development opportunities in China in the future, and hopefully student mobility opportunities as well. Furthermore, this is the first Activate Learning project in China sanctioned by the Chinese government.
