Our journey

The Activate Learning group comprises a wide range of educational provision, all centred around—and driven by—our Learning Philosophy.

Our roots

Our provision includes secondary, further and higher education, apprenticeships and workforce training, consultancy, international, learning companies. Our divisions are united by a common purpose: to transform lives through learning.

2003

Oxford & Cherwell College formed (merger of three colleges).

2005

Bicester campus opens. We become Oxford & Cherwell Valley College.

2010

Reading College joins the Group. Our Group services are formed.

2013

The Group becomes Activate Learning. UTC Reading opens. Activate Enterprise opens.

2015

Academy status gained. UTC Oxfordshire opens. Three colleges in Saudi Arabia open.

2016

Bicester Technology Studio opens. A fourth college in Saudi Arabia joins. Activate Enterprise becomes Activate Apprenticeships.

2017

UTC Oxford and UTC Reading join the Trust. UTC Swindon also joins.

2018

UTC Heathrow and Theale Green School join the Trust.

2019

Bracknell and Wokingham College join the Group. Guildford College Group (Merrist Wood College, Farnham College, and Guildford College) also joins the Group.
