Further Education
Transforming lives through learning.
Activate Learning offers a wide range of options that can be pursued after completing secondary education, allowing progression to higher education, an apprenticeship or directly into the workplace.
There are two main routes that will enable you to reach your goal:
- Our Academic Qualifications route is designed to support progression to further/higher education
- Technical Qualifications are primarily designed to support progression to skilled employment or further technical training
Academic Qualifications
A Levels are versatile, internationally recognised qualifications that are highly valued by employers and can help you gain entry to university.
AAQs will be offered in addition to A Levels and will allow progression to higher education. They are typically available in subjects less well served
by A Levels.
Technical Qualifcations
Technical Qualifications (TOQs) focus on developing practical skills and knowledge in specific industries and are ideal if you already have a career in mind.
T Levels are equivalent to 3 A Levels. They have been designed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that you can learn everything you need to prepare for
the workplace. T Level students spend 80% of the course in the classroom, while the other 20% (315 hours) is spent on a meaningful industry placement.
BTEC Diplomas are offered at levels 1-3, with Level 3 being equivalent to 3 A Levels. Our vocational programmes focus on developing the practical skills and knowledge that employers are seeking in specific industries.
Apprenticeships are for students who wish to learn a specific occupation ‘on the job’. These are typically 80% on-the-job and 20% in the classroom.
With Activate Learning, it’s more than a qualification, we prepare our learners for successful progression to university-level education or employment.
