Activate Learning is launching an exciting new partnership with Bracknell Town Football Club that will see students learning and practising at the club's training grounds.
Bracknell and Wokingham College football students will now become the Bracknell Town Football Club Academy and Global Premier Soccer UK, as part of their 16-18-year-old programme.
This partnership introduces two new collaborative full-time programmes, including a Level 2 and Level 3 diploma in football.
A brilliant combination for people who love football and want to learn
Ross Weatherstone, Director of Recruitment and Education at Bracknell Town Football Club said: “Our programme at Bracknell Town Football Club is designed for students that have completed their GCSEs.
“If you fall into that category and have a passion for football alongside a full-time education and development programme, Bracknell Town Football Club is a great environment that will help you to develop in the classroom and on the pitch.
“If you want to benefit from an outstanding learning and teaching experience, that will push you to achieve your best and set you on the path to establishing yourself within the sports industry, we would welcome hearing from you.”
All students welcome to explore a future in sports
The new academy will welcome all prospective students at Bracknell and Wokingham College with an interest in football, at any ability.
The academy also wants to hear from female and disabled students, as well as young male learners.
As part of the programme with Bracknell Town Football Club, students will be able to play football daily, gaining The Football Association (FA) coaching qualifications and skills required for a career in sport.
What the programme will be like for learners
Student athletes will experience practical coaching and work experience delivered by UEFA qualified academy coaches. There will be opportunities to gain an insight into a wide range of projects, for example, sports coaching within the local community with partners.
Ross added: “The programme involves a full timetable consisting of academic study and practical football training, with a match day on a Wednesday. Education is at the forefront of everything we do.
“It is important that the people of Bracknell see Bracknell Town Football Club as a safe community hub for young people to continue their sporting journey or support the club in what is happening on the pitch. Premier Soccer currently has an International Academy running in partnership with Bracknell Town Football Club.
“This is an exciting project, where young people in Bracknell can interact with internationals students. This gives a great cultural and social dynamic to what is being offered, giving local young people the chance to create new friendships with people all over the world.”
As part of the football academy, students will choose between studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Excellence Performance or will have the choice of A Levels alongside their programme at Bracknell and Wokingham College.
