So, you may be wondering what type of events you can experience during your time with us at college.
You will have already been invited to the New Student Welcome Day in July, but we have lots of fun in store for you once you begin your studies (we want you to have fun too!).
At the end of September, we kick off with a Fresher Fair at all campuses where you’ll get the chance to meet with other people coming to college and find out more about some of the social activities that will be happening. Remember, everyone is in the same boat as you and there will be plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make new friends.
The Freshers Fair will allow you to learn more about your chosen college and things you can do around the college sites. It’s also a great opportunity to meet with some of the organisations we work with.
Here’s what to expect:
Local community stalls (health teams, sexual health and stop smoking)
College support staff (careers, financial support, nurse, counsellor)
In October and November 2019, you can take part in wellness fairs, sexual health and guidance sessions, Anti-Bullying Week, our British Science Week showcase and LGBTQ+ Pride events.
Throughout the year, there’s plenty of opportunities to speak to employers at career and job fairs, as well as our dedicated Careers team based in college.
We will also celebrate World Mental Health Day in October 2019 and Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2020. Activate Learning’s mental health campaign runs all year at all college sites.
We aim to destigmatise mental health and encourage all students to have open conversations about their health and wellbeing in a supportive environment. Please remember, Student Support services are available for everyone.
In June 2020, expect fabulous End of Year Shows by students from all faculties and the Summer Ball!
We can’t wait to welcome you to Activate Learning!
