Yesterday (Tuesday 12 December) all level 2 hospitality and catering students from Banbury and Bicester College took part in a full induction at Heythrop Park Resort, followed by working on a function for over 280 guests.
The students all worked front of house, on the large "space themed" event, working alongside the resort's full time staff, learning key employability skills and learner attitributes. In all, the hospitality students worked an eight-hour working day, closely following what they would expect in a real-life catering working day.
The new partnership, between the Oxforshire based hotel and spa and lifstyles faculty will continue into the new year, with work experience for all eligible students.
Peter Harvey, Learning Manager for lifestyles at Banbury and Bicester College, said: "Our students rose to the occasion, recieving postive feedback from all the staff at Heytrhop Park. Based on their standard of work yesterday, the hotel are keen to provide more work experience opportunities for all our catering students as soon as possible"
