Student success

Students are encouraged to pursue additional activities during their time with us, both to broaden their skills and prepare them for their next step. As well as getting involved in decision making via the colleges’ Learner Voice networks, some students take up internships during the summer. Last year this included science students joining the prestigious Nuffield Research Placement Scheme. A-level students also complete supplementary studies, which for most lead to an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). All of this combines to help your UCAS application catch the attention of university admissions teams. We are proud of our ‘added value’ ratings. This demonstrates that our students make more rapid progress through their studies, with many achieving grades beyond what was predicted at GCSE.
