Whether it is supporting elite athletes to reach their full potential, or introducing a sport to a young person for the first time – with a career in personal training you can play an important role in leading people to a healthy lifestyle.

You could make an impact on the lives of people of all ages and walks of life. You will need to be approachable and an excellent motivator, encouraging people to reach their fitness goals by creating personalised fitness programmes, giving advice on healthy eating and carrying out fitness assessments of clients.

Get the skills, knowledge and competence you need to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming specific to the needs of a client.

  • Personal training - Develop your knowledge of fitness testing and training exercise, assessing risks, leadership, instructing physical activity and injuries massage.

Qualifications

We offer sports qualifications from Level 1 (equivalent to GCSEs grades D-F or 3-1) to university level, at levels 5-6.

Facilities

About 60 per cent of your time at college will be classroom-based. The remainder of the time will be made up of practical activities, including fitness coaching or practical sport.

Train in our gyms, including the state-of-the-art Oxford Lifestyle Centre, featuring the latest in fitness equipment. We have state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, including Wellness application, which allows customers access to their training information via their Smartphone, tablet or PC.
