Nearly one million people work in creative careers nationally, in areas such as games development, video editing and camera operating.

The media industry is facing particular skills shortages in technical development, animation, production and engineering and transmission.

Study with us and you'll develop the technical and employability skills needed for success. You will be able to take part in projects and masterclasses run by industry experts and even complete film projects for external clients. You will learn practical and theoretical media, through creating interactive media products, designing characters and other digital skills. 

You will also your research techniques and be introduced to animation, digital graphics and computer design. Learners build a digital portfolio of work and you will improve your skills in researching, pitching, planning, designing and creating.

You may choose to specialise in e-media, enhancing your skills in web design, digital photography, digital video production and more. You will enhance your expertise in camera operation, sound recording, pre-production and editing techniques.

  • Media - Develop your media knowledge through practical work and projects in preparation both for work and further study. You will explore media such as video, radio and print, and gain exciting new skills in audio computer and animation technology.
  • Gaming - Prepare for a fantrastic career in the fast moving computer games industry. You will learn industry-relevant skills, using software like the one that you would find in a working studio.

Qualifications

Qualifications in our media pathways are accredited by the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL).

Our programmes range from Level 1 (equivalent to GCSEs grades D-F or 3-1) to Level 3 (equivalent to A-levels). 

Facilities

We use software and teaching methods relevant to the industry. For example, you will have full access to our amazing industry standard media centre, which boasts a television studio, digital video and sound editing equipment, a radio studio and computing facilities.
