The Met Office has issued a Red weather warning, with exceptionally high temperatures expected over the coming days.
In line with Department for Education guidance, all Activate Learning campuses will remain open and continue to operate as normal.
Your safety and wellbeing are our priority, and we ask everyone to take precautions to stay safe in the heat.
Staying safe in the heat
Please remember to:
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day and bring a refillable water bottle with you.
- Take advantage of water stations available on campus.
- Wear light, comfortable clothing, where appropriate.
- Seek shade and avoid spending long periods in direct sunlight.
- Apply sunscreen and wear a hat if you are outside.
- Take regular breaks and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day.
- Look out for your friends and let a member of staff know if you or someone else feels unwell.
Symptoms of heat exhaustion can include: headaches, dizziness, nausea, excessive sweating, tiredness and feeling faint. If you feel unwell, please seek support from a member of staff immediately.
Thank you for helping us ensure everyone remains safe during this period of extreme weather.
Kind regards,
Paul Newman
