Activate Learning introduce new anonymous Safeguarding reporting form

We want everyone at Activate Learning to feel safe, supported, and empowered to speak up if they have any safeguarding concerns. While we always prefer concerns to be raised in person (so we can respond and support you quickly), we understand that sometimes you may wish to report something without sharing your name.

To help keep our community safe, we have launched a new Anonymous Safeguarding Reporting Form. This online form enables you to share safeguarding concerns directly and privately with our Safeguarding Team, without providing your name or contact details, if this feels more comfortable for you.

How do I use the form?

  • The form is accessible via QR codes on posters around college, via the Student Support Hub and Adult Support Hub on ALO, or by clicking here: Anonymous Safeguarding Reporting Form.
  • You’ll be asked to provide as much detail as possible about your concern, including who is involved, when and where the concern happened, and any other helpful information.
  • You can choose to remain completely anonymous, or if you wish, you can provide your contact details.

Why is this form available?

  • To encourage early reporting of concerns - no concern is too small.
  • To offer an extra option for reporting safeguarding issues, alongside our existing routes.

Important!

  • The Anonymous Form does not replace our usual safeguarding reporting routes - if you feel able to, we always encourage you to come and speak to a member of staff in person. This allows us to support you best and allows us to follow-up where needed!
  • You can contact the Safeguarding Team in person, by phone (01865 550401) or via email at safe@activatelearning.ac.uk.
  • You should not use this form for emergencies. If you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm, are in danger, or the concern is urgent and serious in nature:
    • Call 999 for emergency services.
    • Call 111 for urgent mental health help or 116 123 for the Samaritans.

Please remember:

  • The more information you can give us, the better we can understand what’s happening and decide what to do. If there isn’t enough detail, we may not be able to take action, but your report will still be recorded to help us spot patterns or risks.
  • If you choose to report anonymously, we won’t be able to ask follow-up questions, so clear details really matter.
  • You won’t receive updates or feedback about what happens after you’ve made a report unless you provide your contact details.

What shouldn’t the anonymous form be used for?

  • Non-safeguarding complaints (such as maintenance issues, general feedback, or IT problems). Please use the relevant channels for these.
  • Please use this form responsibly, sharing genuine concerns. Misusing it (for example, making fake or malicious reports) can be harmful to others and may make it harder for us to support those who need help most.

If you’re unsure or need help, our staff are always here to support you. Sharing your name with the Safeguarding Team does not mean loss of control or privacy; it helps us keep you and others safe.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and inclusive college community.

Best wishes,

The Student Support and Safeguarding Team
