John Cope


JohnCope-2.jpgOriginally from the Midlands, John has worked in politics, education, communications, and policy development for the last decade or so and is currently director of strategy, policy, and public affairs at UCAS. At Activate Learning, John is the link governor for Higher Education, and co-link for Apprenticeships.

Prior to joining UCAS, John was deputy director of the consultancy and polling firm Public First; worked with business leaders across the UK as head of education and skills at the CBI; was an adviser to three former education ministers; and was a founding director of the Education Policy Institute. Outside of work, John is a governor of a special needs secondary school, deputy national chair of LGBT+ Conservatives, and a trustee of the education charity Achievement for All.
