On Tuesday 12th November the year 10's went on a trip as part of our “Futures” programme. A big thank you to Christine Hill of Activate Learning https://www.activatelearning.ac.uk/ for helping arrange our first-ever whole year-group visit to a college. In fact 2 colleges - Guildford College Students got to see many different career paths including plumbing, carpentry, nursing, hairdressing, animal management and bike mechanics. We also got to see baby goats, meerkats and giant tortoises.

The school have created a strong link with the college which will enable them to provide future collaborative learning opportunities for the children of St Michael’s.

Just want to say thank you to your colleague, Trudy, for agreeing to come to Kendrick to our students a couple of weeks ago about options other than A Levels post 16. My colleague, Candace said she did the session very well, appreciating that our students are likely to do A Levels but was able to give them a rounded picture of what else is available to them.

Your presentation was very helpful for parents and students at a time when Year 10 need to be thinking about their next steps. Charlotte, who is currently standing in for Rob was very impressed how everything was set up. We felt that parents and students were happy and appreciated the event.
