Students at Bracknell and Wokingham College, City of Oxford College and University Centre, Farnham College and Reading College and University Centre celebrated, as they got the results they needed to take their next steps.

“This is a celebration of their hard work, dedication and resilience, and we share in their achievements with great joy.
“Many of our learners have overcome personal and educational challenges on their journeys, and their results are only part of their stories.
“Our staff will be on hand to support students with their next steps if required, offering advice and guidance on the clearing process and helping them to explore the many opportunities that lie ahead.

Bracknell and Wokingham College
Bracknell and Wokingham College celebrated a 96% pass rate.
Ten of the 14 A Level subjects at Bracknell and Wokingham College secured 100% pass rates, with a 7% improvement in A*-C grades.
The Bracknell and Wokingham College Biology A Level department achieved a 100% pass rate, for the second year running, 7% above the national average.
Other notable A Level subjects that achieved a 100% pass rate include:
- Government and Politics, for the third year running, 5% above the national average.
- Law, for the third year in a row, 5% above the national average.
- Maths, for the second year in a row, 6% above the national average.
- Physics, for the third year in a row, 5% above the national average.
Caitlin Wyeth, 19, from Bracknell, was one of the college’s top performers, achieving three grade As in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. She will now take up an offer from the University of Southampton to study a BSc degree in Pharmacology.
Caitlin said: “I’m over the moon! I didn’t expect this! I can’t believe it, I’m speechless. I’m happy that I got what I needed to go to university.
“The teaching here was very relaxed. There’s no pressure. They supported me well. The teachers are very friendly, so you don’t feel afraid speaking to them, and they always made the time to help me.
“I am so excited about going to university! It’s one of the most exciting things that I’ve done in my life. I can’t wait to leave home and get my independence started!”
City of Oxford College and University Centre
City of Oxford College and University Centre is celebrating a 98% pass rate for A Level qualifications, up 1% up on last year.
14 of the 18 A Level subjects at City of Oxford College and University Centre secured 100% pass rates.
The City of Oxford College and University Centre’s Biology A Level department achieved a 100% pass rate, 6.8% higher than last year’s national average.
At Oxford City of Oxford College and University Centre, 70% of students got their first-choice university place, with 10% of students who applied taking up offers from Russel Group universities.
Other notable A Level subjects that achieved a 100% pass rate include:
- Government and Politics, 5.4% higher than last year’s national average.
- Law, 5.3% higher than last year’s national average.
- Chemistry, 4.6% higher than last year’s national average.
Ben Maslen was one of the college’s top performers, achieving a grade A* in Government and Politics, a grade A in History and a grade A in Sociology. He will now take up an offer to study History and Politics at the University of Warwick.
Ben said: “I don’t know what to say! It feels surreal, because when I walked out of those exams, I was thinking not a chance! Now that I’ve got these, it’s more than a shock.
“I want to go and study History and Politics at University of Warwick – but more than that, it will give me more opportunity to interact with people and have new experiences.
“One day I would like to become an MP, but realistically, I’ll just see where the future takes me.
“College did a fantastic job at making me feel comfortable in an environment where I could meet people who became my friends! I’m a completely different person compared to how I was three years ago.
“I’m usually quite reserved in my opinions of teachers, but genuinely they were the best teachers I’ve ever had, and I can’t express how grateful I truly am.
“They were all very supportive, helping me through problems personally and academically which was a massive boost to my confidence and academic performance.”
Farnham College
Farnham College would like to congratulate all the students who passed their A Level qualifications, with over three-quarters securing their first-choice university places.
Students will be heading off to 22 different universities this year, including the Russell Group universities Exeter, Liverpool, Cardiff and UCL.
One of the students heading off to their first choice is Eva Pyle, 19, who was the college’s highest achiever with A*AA in Sociology, Photography and Psychology. Eva is going to study Psychology at the University of Bath.
Eva said: “Coming to study at Farnham College has been my best experience with education so far, the support has been amazing.
“A big shout out to my tutor Rupert who really believed in me, and I don’t think I would have done as well as I did without his support and confidence in me. The Learning Support team have also been incredible with their help and support.
“I’m really going to miss Farnham College, but I’m also really excited for the future!”
Geography, History, Law, Media and Photography A Level subjects at Farnham College all secured 100% pass rates.
Law A Level secured a 100% pass rate, nearly 4% higher than last year’s national average for this subject area. English Literature also achieved a 100% pass rate, which is up 3% on last year’s national average for this subject area.
The college’s History and Geography A Level subjects also maintained their 100% pass rate for the third consecutive year, with Photography A Level achieving a 100% pass rate for a fifth year in a row.
Reading College and University Centre
Reading College and University Centre celebrated a 93% pass rate on A Level Results Day.
The college’s Chemistry department maintained a 100% pass rate for the third year in a row, 8% up from last year’s national average. Religious Studies students also had a 100% pass rate for the third year running, 3% above the national average.
Other notable subject areas that achieved a 100% pass included:
- Art and Design, 1% higher than last year’s national average.
- Government and Politics, 5% higher than last year’s national average.
- Mathematics, 3% higher than last year’s national average.
Seven of the 15 A Level subjects at Reading College and University Centre secured 100% pass rates.
Diogo Da Silva Santos achieved a grade B in Chemistry, a grade B in Physics and a grade C in Biology. Diogo has studied at Reading College and University Centre for several years, first in ESOL, secondly pursuing an GCSE Full Time and then progressing onto A Levels. He will now take up an offer to study Medicine at the University of Southampton.
Diogo said: “At Reading College, I worked incredibly hard to build my English from scratch to reach the grades I needed for my dream career of becoming a doctor.
“From the very beginning, I was supported by teachers who believed in me, and their guidance played a crucial role in my success.”
