A message from Activate Learning’s Students’ Union – Congratulations!

27 March 2020

Hello everyone,

Firstly, congratulations! You have got through the first week of social-isolation and social-distancing. This is amazing. It has probably been hard for many of you and you will be missing family, friends, and even college!

We are sure that your inboxes are full of emails about coronavirus and you may well be feeling a bit overwhelmed by it. We totally understand!

The Students’ Union will instead be aiming to keep you company each week with a positive update. We hope that this will keep us all feeling part of this amazing community, even when we are isolating in our houses, and allow us to share things together to keep us going.

If you are interested in helping to write these bulletins, or simply want to share an app, Netflix series, song, or something else that is keeping your spirits up – please let us know! If you have suggestions for anything that will help students, then email: charlotte.morgan@activatelearning.ac.uk and be sure to reach out to us on social media.

For now, this is a reminder to be kind to yourselves and others in these difficult times. If you need any help, then Student Support can be contacted on 01865 550 401 between 8.30am and 5.00pm on weekdays or by emailing support@activatelearning.ac.uk. The Student Support team can set up phone appointments with you, text you if you need help, and give you advice and tips.

Outside of college hours, you can also contact the Samaritans on 116 123, or text Give Us A Shout by texting 85258 (both are free!)

Speak to you next week, and make sure if it is safe to do so, you get out and enjoy the sunshine (keeping 2 metres away minimum from anyone not in your household!).
