Getting ready to return to college in September

10 July 2020

We would like to extend our thanks to you for all your hard work during this year, we appreciate it’s not been an easy one!

Your commitment to your work has put you in an incredible place for continuing your studies next year and we wanted to give you further information on what to expect in September.

We hope that we can bring some certainty during this difficult time.

What will college be like in September and how will you keep me safe?

We have worked hard over the past three months to continue teaching at college for those of you who most needed support, and this has given us a good idea of all the things we need to do for you next year to ensure you are kept safe.

Next week, we will provide you with a clear plan for what college will look like for you next year, which will include details on what your campus will look like, social distancing measures and an update on what your lessons will look like.

Bring or buy your own device

We want everyone to have access to right equipment if they aren’t in college and we’ve now set up a new scheme that supports you with buying a laptop or tablet.

If you need financial support with buying a new device, we will be providing more information via email on how to access this support for those eligible.

For those of you interested in the new scheme, go to

Those of you who have already got your own devices will be encouraged to bring them into college to help reduce the demand for computers in the Learning Environments. Though please don't worry if you don’t want to, as you will still be able to book time in Learning Environments as needed. This equipment will be cleaned regularly.

Keeping an eye out for future updates

We are aware of the constantly changing landscape but want to reassure you that we will continue to communicate with you throughout summer to ensure that you are prepared when you return to college in September.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact your teachers via email or ALO in the first instance and keep an eye on your email inbox each week for further information.
