Bracknell and Wokingham College was filled with elves last week as students on the foundation pathway delivered reindeer themed hot chocolate and Santa themed sweet giftsets in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.

Students and staff decided to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society because a few members of staff have relatives who are living with dementia.

A total of 130 orders were received, and the students raised £170 for the charity.

Over 40 students on the foundation pathway were involved from tiers 2-4, which involves students who are on supported foundation programmes, have been previously disengaged from education or are on the autism spectrum.

Miriam White, Work Experience Coordinator at Bracknell and Wokingham College, said: “We were overwhelmed with the support we received from staff and students at the college, which was amazing and very unexpected.”

“The students have also learnt some valuable employability skills such as learning to work as a team, improving their communication skills and how to set up a production line.

“They have also been able to improve their English and maths skills as they have to count money or quantities of ingredients and follow instructions.”
