Activate Learning’s Reading College is offering two free ceramics workshops on Saturday 18 May.
25 April 2019
Activate Learning’s Reading College is offering two free ceramics workshops on Saturday 18 May. The tile making session will take place 10am–1pm and the life modelling class from 2pm-5pm.
Held in conjunction with Hey Clay!, part of the Crafts Council’s Get Creative campaign, the sessions will give people the chance to try ceramics for free.
Beginners can enjoy a tile making session where they will design, create and fire their own decorative tile.
Experienced artists or sculptors are invited to a life modelling class where they will be working in clay.
Both sessions are open to participants aged 19+ and are free to join. As places are limited, booking is essential. Please email James Collins to secure your place.
Anna Glanville-Smith, a Creative Arts Faculty Manager, says:
“Clay is such a rewarding material to work with, but requires specialist equipment in order to turn into fired ceramics.
“At Reading College, we have both the equipment and expertise to help you start a great new pottery hobby.
“Come along to the free Hey Clay! workshops to try ceramics out for yourself, and create your own beautiful work of art.”
