This is a work-related course aimed at students who are looking to work in the health and social care sector.

This is a work-related course aimed at students who are looking to work in the health and social care sector. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will also sit an externally assessed exam.

What I'll learn

Core units include:

  • Effective communication in health and social care
  • Individual rights in health and social care
  • Core values in health and social care
  • Human lifespan development (externally assessed)
  • Healthy living (externally assessed)

You will undertake four block work placements to gain experience in health and social care settings.  You will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure and barring service check at the start of the course.

 

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above and a grade D/3 or above in English language. If you do not have a grade C/4 in GCSE English language and maths you will be required to be working towards achieving this alongside your course.  Any vocational qualifications being used as part of the entry requirements must be  achieved at Merit Level or higher. Positive references and a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check are required for this course.
