The Brickwork Trowel Trades Level 2 Programme builds on the skills and knowledge you will have learned at Level 1, advancing onto bigger practical projects and more advanced theory. This includes setting out and arch projects.

What I'll learn

Building on the skills and knowledge you learned at Level 1, advance onto bigger practical projects and more advanced theory. This includes setting out and arch projects. You will gain brickwork skills and understand a detailed overview of the construction industry. Functional skills also form part of the course.

The course ranges from health and safety to mixing and bedding, walling details and ground work.

 

How I'll learn

On the Brickwork Trowel Trades Level 2 Diploma you will learn through practical sessions in the workshops and theory lessons in the classroom.

 

 

How I'll be assessed

Assessment is ongoing throughout the year. You will attend practical sessions in the workshops and theory lessons in the classroom.

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants for this Level 2 programme will normally have a Brickwork Level 1 Diploma.

You also need to be ready to study for an additional qualification in English and/or maths. All students have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

You will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment when you apply. You will also be given a tour of the workshop. After the interview you will be informed of the outcome.

Safety boots or shoes must be worn in the workshop, along with suitable clothes. These items are not provided by the college. However, we do provide tools.

This course prepares you for employment and provides further craft training in the construction industry. Get ready for employment as a work-based learner apprentice in brickwork or complete further study at Level 3.
