Wellbeing In Mind

Run by Activate Learning in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council’s Adult Education Service

We have a variety of courses available dealing with topics such as stress management, understanding anxiety and relaxation as well as practical courses including Mosaics In Mind and Yoga For Wellbeing.

Wellbeing In Mind courses are designed for people with issues such as stress, low mood, sleeplessness and mild to moderate mental health issues.

Wellbeing In Mind courses are **FREE** for those who live or work in the Wokingham Borough. 

If you want to join a course, you will need to have a brief assessment with us first. This is to check the course you want to attend is the right one for you. You will also be asked to complete a wellbeing questionnaire. Assessments can be done over the phone, by email or at reception in Woodley Hill House.

We use the NHS mood and wellbeing questionnaires PHQ9 and GAD7. You can find out more about these on the NHS website.
We also use the Warwick and Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing scale SWEMWBS to assess you at the start and end of any chosen courses.

You will need to complete an enrolment form before we can confirm a space for you on your chosen course.

Yoga for Wellbeing*
A practice of static postures and flowing sequences, breathing techniques and concentration, to help you develop strength and flexibility, mental focus and self-awareness.

Location: Waingels Adult Centre, (within Waingels College) Waingels Road RG5 4RF
*To be able to participate in yoga you must be able to bear weight on your wrists. As this is a physical class, it is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
