Start your journey to an exciting career in tourism with this Level 3 qualification: the Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
This is a practical and theory work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities.
You will develop the skills you need to start or progress a career in travel and tourism. The qualification will provide you with the equivalent of A or AS Levels.
What I'll learn
The qualification is run in conjunction with robust GCSE English and GCSE Maths courses to enable the student who wishes to work in the travel and tourism sector the knowledge and skill of customer service, geography and business.
It also focuses on tour operators, holiday centres, tourist attractions, hospitality as well as aviation. All the tutors are subject specialists with first hand knowledge of the industry.
How I'll learn
As well as tutorials and assignments, you take part in residential trips and visits to travel and tourism organisations.
How I'll be assessed
There are no exams on this course. All 20 diploma units are assessed by completion of assignments which you produce throughout the year. You also do various activities and role-plays under observation.

Entry Requirements
You will need five or more GCSEs at grades 4 (C), or higher, including English and maths, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma, grade Merit or Distinction, plus GCSE grade C or above or Functional Skills at level 2 in English and maths
If you are interested in a Level 3 programme and have alternative qualifications you would like us to consider, please contact us to discuss your circumstances. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an initial assessment.
All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
