This course provides you with a high quality, industry-recognised qualification that is also recognised on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).

It is suitable for anyone who wishes to enter the exercise and fitness industry as a gym instructor and wants to work towards becoming a Personal Trainer.

What I'll learn

You will learn a range of units covering:

  • how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
  • health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
  • principles of exercise, fitness and health
  • anatomy and physiology for exercise

 

How I'll learn

The course involves a mixture of theoretical and practically based work. You will be expected to complete a minimum of six hours work experience per week. There will be costs associated with additional qualifications.

 

How I'll be assessed

Assessment is through a mixture of practical assessments, portfolio evidence and short answer examinations.

 

Entry Requirements

You will need four GCSE grade D  (3) or above including English Language and maths, or achievement on a Level 1 Foundation Pathway including Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1.
