Join the Bracknell Town Football Club Academy and pursue a career working in football with a course that mixes playing and training, alongside coaching and learning.
New for September 2020, Bracknell and Wokingham College are partnering with Bracknell Town Football Club to deliver a practical and academic full-time programme for 16–19-year olds.
The course is delivered by highly-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic coaches and tutors, and will provide you with a defined pathway into the professional sports industry.
Academy players have the chance to continue their formal education, play football on a daily basis, gain FA coaching qualifications and learn the skills required for a career in sport. Employment progression routes after this programme include:
- Sports coaching
- Sports therapy
- Teacher training
- Sports or event management
- Higher Education (university-level study)

What I'll learn
Bracknell Town Football Academy students will study a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport.
This exciting two-year programme will teach student athletes the key elements of sports performance.
Student athletes will receive the necessary tuition, in the skills needed, to progress into employment in a variety of sports related careers.
Combining education with the opportunity to gain coaching experience from an active professional coach within the academy, it gives student athletes a unique platform to progress into employment within the sport and leisure sector.
How I'll learn
Student athletes will experience practical coaching and work experience delivered by UEFA qualified academy coaches.
There will be opportunities to gain an insight into a wide range of projects, for example, sports coaching within our local community partners.
How I'll be assessed
Ongoing assessment will be through submissions, presentation and practical activities.
Four or more GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above including English and maths, and/or a completed Level 1 award.

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
