What I'll learn
One of the key strengths of our rowing programme is the flexibility that allows athletes to focus on their studies, as well as offering one of the most successful training programmes in the world.
Transport to and from each session is provided by City of Oxford College, giving each athlete the easiest route to academic success and rowing development.
There are six core units and twelve specialist units. The six core subjects are:
- research methods
- research project
The specialist units cover:
- health and lifestyle
- fitness testing
- training and fitness
- sport and exercise
- sports nutrition
- sports injuries
- sports coaching
- practical individual and team sports
- applied sport and exercise psychology
- work-based experience in sport
How I'll learn
You will study through a mixture of theory and practical lessons. This extended diploma includes work experience, functional skills tutorials and additional qualifications. Additional qualifications include Level 2 treatment and management of injuries, first aid for sport and sports massage.
There are also residential visits and day trips at an additional cost.
How I'll be assessed
You will be assessed continuously throughout the programme and given ongoing feedback to support you through the course.
Your assessments will be written, practical and verbal, and give you every opportunity to achieve the maximum grade available. Some of the additional qualifications are assessed through both theory and practical examinations.
Your lessons will take place at the excellent leisure facilities at Oxford College.
