The Youth Work Level 2 Certificate is suitable for new practitioners or those wishing to progress onto the Youth Work Level 3 Diploma.

The Youth Work Level 2 Certificate is the minimum qualification required for those wishing to work as a JNC Youth Support Work Assistant.

 

 

What I'll learn

Level 2 In Youth Work is suitable for new Youth Work practitioners or those wishing to progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice. The Level 2 Certificate is the minimum qualification required for those wishing to work as a JNC Youth Support Work Assistant. 

 

How I'll be assessed

To achieve Level 2 certificate in Youth Work Practice you must achieve a minimum of 26 credits from units such as:

  • engaging and communicating with young people
  • group work within a youth work setting
  • safeguarding
  • theory of youth work
  • work-based practice
  • working with challenging behaviour
  • young people's development
  • supporting young peoples recreation and leisure

 

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are needed. You must either be working with young people or have a substantial placement in a youth work setting. The suggested minimum requirement for working in a youth work setting is 3 hours a week for 6 months. You must have a satisfactory DBS check before embarking on the qualification.
