You will learn about the basic principles that underpin financial and cost accounting, understanding the basic principles of VAT and the preparation of VAT returns, ethical principles and spread sheet techniques used by accountants.
On successful completion, you can progress on to the AAT Accounting Level 4 Professional Diploma, subject to meeting the entry requirements.
The course is taught in modules with an assessment at the end of each one. Tutors use a variety of techniques so that students can be expected to be actively involved during the lessons with discussions, exercises, practical demonstrations, pair work and time constrained tests.
The course fee includes tuition and exams but you will have to purchase books from Kaplan which cost £125. You will also need to pay AAT membership fees.

You will need completion of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or equivalent bookkeeping qualifications at Level 2. Attendance and the number of resits taken to pass a unit at Level 2 will also be taken into consideration.
