The AAT Accounting Qualification will start you on the path to a successful accounting and finance career.

Our training will give you the practical skills and financial expertise to follow a rewarding career in professional accountancy. You will enrol on an AAT course through us and will then you need to register with AAT as a student member.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

Depending on the level you study you will be learning in a classroom environment over one or two evenings a week. You are also expected to practice your learned skills at home or in your place of work.

There are three levels to the AAT Accounting Qualification. You will spend about a year on each level, so if you start at Level 2, it will take you three years to become fully qualified. If you have previous experience, you could have certain exemptions, and qualify in two years or less.

How I'll learn

You should spend three hours a week studying outside of class, for each learning and assessment area. Your study time will need to increase before assessments when you’re revising. Don’t forget to use all the study and membership support that is also offered by AAT as well as from the course tutors.

Whole class and group work activities will take place but the majority of your learning will be ‘standalone’.

How I'll be assessed

Final assessment is by examination only. There is no course work to complete but you will be assessed in class periodically to establish understanding and learning.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs grade 3 (D) or above including English and maths or Level 1 AAT qualification.

You will need:
• an aspiration to achieve

• the ability to complete assessments and written projects in English

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview before being accepted onto the course.
