Working directly with models this one-day workshop will introduce learners to photographing subjects with a range of approaches to natural light portraiture. Throughout the day our expert tutor will demonstrate appropriate camera settings and best use of inexpensive accessories.

Working directly with models this one-day workshop will introduce learners to photographing subjects with a range of approaches to natural light portraiture. Throughout the day our expert tutor will demonstrate appropriate camera settings and best use of inexpensive accessories. 

You will learn how to:

  • What camera settings and appropriate lenses 
  • How to use window light including use of modifiers.  
  • Back lighting 
  • Options for outdoor shoots including reflectors, flags and/or scrims. 
  • Finding and using open and covered shade outdoors 

What I'll learn

After a brief discussion and analysis of images, practical sessions will be facilitated to allow experimentation with the techniques shown.  Most of the day will be spent photographing people using natural light in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations.

You will be in practical sessions throughout the day.

 

Entry Requirements

Any mirrorless, DSLR or bridge camera will be fine. Ideally you need to have use of Aperture Priority mode and exposure compensation on your camera.

Bring a packed lunch and refreshments.
