A basic course for those who want to understand more about their camera controls and to improve their picture taking. Suitable for any camera type.

This course combines lots of practical shooting exercises with guidance on the functions of your camera, how to frame different types of shots, and how to adjust the settings on your camera to get the effects you want.

The main aim of this short course is to have fun, improve your confidence and photography ability.

Suitable for any camera type.

  • The September course is 10 weeks in length and takes place at Church Road
  • The January course is 10 weeks in length and takes place at Woodley Hill House
  • The April course is 8 weeks in length (due to Bank holidays) but is 2.5 hrs in length and takes place at Church Road

NB: Please note that this course does not run during the half term/end of term breaks.

  • Basic camera operation
  • Introduction on composition
  • What makes a good  picture?
  • Practical sessions on location and indoors to photograph places, people and things
  • Self evaluation and review images

  • practical application

 

How I'll be assessed

There are no formal assessments on this course; only constructive feedback!

 

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements in terms of qualifications, but you should own a camera that you can bring to class.
