Preparing for the stage or the recording studio.  This workshop is for more experienced singers wanting to focus on the performance of solo work.

We will focus on the individual voices. You are expected to bring, minimum one, maximum three songs* in any style, learnt and prepared to the best of your abilities, perform them in front of your fellow students and receive feedback on your performance. You should bring the recorded tracks and/or accompaniments to your songs in any machine (mobile phone, tablet) or format (karaoke, Youtube) and if available, a copy of the printed music.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

You will achieve confidence in your knowledge of your song/s* and their requirements, and therefore, confidence singing in front of an audience.  *The number of songs you will be able to work on will depend on the number of participants.

How I'll learn

You will learn how to improve and perfect a song or songs for public performance or recording. You will learn to enter, own, and leave the stage; you will polish your tuning, rhythm, enunciation and articulation of words. You will learn about expression and nuances in singing.  You will learn different types of vocal technique appropriate for different styles of music.

This workshop runs on Tuesday evening from 6pm-9pm.

How I'll be assessed

There are no formal assessments on this course.

Entry Requirements
