What I'll learn

The emphasis will be on maintaining your speaking and listening skills and expanding your knowledge, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions in context (e.g. proverbs).
Your tutor will select the most appropriate resources including articles from the German press, the Internet, films and books to stimulate discussion and encourage debate.
The course will cover topics related to the German speaking world in order to enhance and extend your cultural awareness. Your tutor will respond to your individual objectives and the scheme of work can be adapted accordingly during the course.
You will also be encouraged to select topics you find of particular interest and, if possible, bring materials to the classes to stimulate debate under the expert coaching of your tutor.
You will be asked to produce two pieces of work per semester for on-going assessment purposes. This may take the form of written work or recording a debate in class.
