Choose the Media Level 3 Extended Diploma and you can explore a career pathway in the TV and film industry.

The Media Level 3 Extended Diploma covers the vibrant world of TV and film, as well as incorporating radio, production, photography, comic book and print production. Choose the Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production at City of Oxford College and you can specialise in eMedia. You get to develop skills such as web design, flash animation, digital photography, digital video production and more.

Each year, our students have the opportunity to take part in our End of Year Festival to showcase their work. Take a look at our video of the 2019 show, "Arrival".

What I'll learn

You'll learn a range of digital design skills, as well as becoming familiar with relevant software. These design skills include digital animation and website design, as well as DVD menu authoring.

In addition, there is also a video production element of the course in which you will learn to research, plan and produce a range of video productions, including a music video and a short drama. Theoretical analysis informs all areas of your practical work as well as giving an insight into how media institutions perceive audiences and construct products for particular markets.

How I'll learn

You will have full access to the media centre which consists of a television studio, digital video and sound editing equipment, a radio studio and computing facilities. All students follow a functional skills programme. You work with specialist tutors on live practical projects. You are offered the opportunity to gain professional experience working with a variety of clients to boost your CV.

How I'll be assessed

This course is 100% coursework which means there are no exams. You need to be well organised throughout the year. You also need to enjoy working as part of a team and sharing your views.

Entry Requirements
