You will study a range of media such as video, radio and print and learn skills in audio computer and animation technology on the Digital Media Pathway. The course helps you to build your media knowledge through practical work and projects in preparation both for work and further study.
You will learn a range of skills that will help you to undertake research projects give presentations interview people, question members of the public, complete production paperwork, organise productions, work as part of a production team, write reports and take notes in class and on visits.
To complete this course you will be required to use a variety of skills working both in groups and individually. The course is 100% coursework based featuring both written and practical assignments. Written assignments include a study of media jobs, an analysis of factual production in the media, a study of a wide range of print techniques, writing a script for a film and an analysis of film audiences.
You do a lot of practical work on this programme. I spent so long—years—doing my GCSEs and doing written work, I really wanted to explore the more practical side of studying.”
Four GCSEs (including English & maths) at grade D/3 or above and/or a completed Level 1 award.
