The CIPD intermediate Certificate in HRM course is suitable for those who are working in HR and want to grow their knowledge and skills or those who wish to develop their understanding of HR to build on existing qualifications.  

The CIPD intermediate Certificate in HRM course is suitable for those who are working in HR and want to grow their knowledge and skills or those who wish to develop their understanding of HR to build on existing qualifications.

The course runs over 33 weeks on a Tuesday afternoon and evening. Every week students are required to be in college for 4 hours for lectures and other classroom activities. A requirement of the course is that you take out membership of the CIPD at the beginning.

What I'll learn

You will need to complete and pass the following six modules over the 33-week period to gain the qualification;

  1. Developing Professional Practice (5DVP) 
  2. Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources (5CHR) 
  3. Using Information in Human Resources (5UIN) 
  4. Employment Law (5EML) 
  5. Leading and Managing within the HR Function. (5LMS) 
  6. Reward Management  (5RMT)

 

How I'll learn

There will be various methods of teaching including lectures, workshops, seminars and online group activities. There will also be workshops covering elements of studying including research and report writing skills.
It is also expected that as a student on this course, you will commit a minimum of 6 hours per week in addition to the time spent at college for self-directed study and completion of homework.
 

 

How I'll be assessed

Each module has a written assessment attached to it together with other more practical assessments and preparation of a portfolio of work.
