This qualification is equivalent to three A Levels.

This qualification is equivalent to three A Levels. It can lead to university or employment in the health and social care sector, including care, social services, young people’s workforce and childcare.
The course is made up of 8 mandatory units amd 5 optional units and two externally assessed exams.

  • Anatomy and physiology for health and social care 
  • Working in health and social care 
  • Enquiries into current research in health and social care.   

You will also undertake compulsory work placements with a wide range of client groups.  You will be required to have an enhanced disclosure and barring service check at the start of the course.

 

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs including English language at grade A*-C/9-4 in academic subjects or Distinction at Vocational Level 2 in a related subject. If you do not have a grade C/4 in GCSE maths you will be required to be working towards achieving this alongside your course.
Positive references and a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this course.
