Start your career in furniture with this Level 2 qualification - the Diploma in Principles and Practice of Furniture Making.

By training at our renowned Rycotewood Furniture Centre you learn the principles of handcrafted furniture from industry-trained tutors.

What I'll learn

You learn by doing practical activities skill-based projects and watching tutor demonstrations on campus in our Rycotewood Furniture Centre workshops.


How I'll learn

The course includes lectures on timber technology designing and health and safety too. This is a very highly-regarded training centre for furniture making.


How I'll be assessed

You are continuously assessed by practical exercises and written work. You produce a portfolio of learning and complete a timed practical assignment. There is also a one-hour multiple choice exam in health and safety.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs including English & maths at grade D/3 or above and/or a completed Level 1 award.
