You don't have to be the world's greatest singer or actor to build a rewarding and interesting career in the performing arts!
With the Foundation Pathway in Performing Arts, you can kickstart a career in this exciting sector as you learn the skills needed to progress. You will also be given the opportunity to gain English, Maths and IT qualifications alongside the programme.
Upon completion of the course, you can progress to a higher-level study programme at college, or onto an apprenticeship. We can give you advice and information to help you plan your next step, whether you would like to study another course in the college or somewhere else, or are looking to enter employment.
We will provide you with the opportunity to develop vital employability and independence skills through our learning companies. Our partnerships with external organisations and employers are central to giving you the tools you need to have a successful future.

What I'll learn
You will learn about the performing arts industry and possible job opportunities.
You will also develop your functional skills in English and Maths.
How I'll learn
You will take part in interactive and fun activities to develop your performance skills as well as practical projects in a supportive and collaborative classroom.
The course will help you to develop personal skills such as communication, creativity and confidence, preparing you for the world of work.
How I'll be assessed
The course is based on continual assessment with workbooks and the teaching team will engage your leaning in many different ways.
Types of learning activities will consist of group work, practical activities, putting learning into practice and visits.
You do not need qualifications to join these pathways. However, you will need a successful interview with a member of the teaching team to show your commitment to full time study and your interest in the subject.
You need a basic level of literacy and numeracy to apply for this course. The commitment to work towards improving English and maths is required for this programme. Both Functional skill and GCSE re-sits are offered. We will also expect a satisfactory school report.
As part of your interview we will assess your levels of English and maths and advise you of the most appropriate level to study.
