New and returning learners:
Please note that due to special measures we have put in place to make our sites COVID safe, we are asking all learners to enrol with us online. If you are unable to do so we can support you over the phone, simply call 0800 612 6008. You will be introduced to the basics of the health industry. You will also gain the personal skills you need for employment.
With the Foundation Pathway in Health and Social Care, you can kickstart a career in these exciting sectors as you learn the skills needed to progress. You will also be given the opportunity to gain English, Maths and IT qualifications alongside the programme.
Upon completion of the course, you can progress to a higher-level health and social care study programme at college, or onto an apprenticeship. We can give you advice and information to help you plan your next step, whether you would like to study another course in the college or somewhere else, or are looking to enter employment.
We will provide you with the opportunity to develop vital employability and independence skills through our learning companies. Our partnerships with external organisations and employers are central to giving you the tools you need to have a successful future.
We accept Foundation Studies students who want to start within the academic year. If you would like to find out more or apply to start a Foundation Studies course this year, please click the button below and complete the enquiry form. One of our friendly team will then get back to you.
What I'll learn
How I'll learn
Your tutor will work with you to set individual learning targets each term and you will get feedback on your progress.
Learning will take place through a range of classroom based activities, practical hands on learning, research activities, educational visits and work experience.
This is a one year full-time course which you attend three days a week.
How I'll be assessed
You will take part in interactive and fun activities where assessment is continuous rather than by exam and you will complete a portfolio as evidence of your learning.
