If you are you looking to expand your existing basic machine sewing skills, than this five-week course is perfect for you!
By the end of this course you will have learnt basic bodice construction techniques. You will learn about interfacing, collars, button stands, sleeves and more.
At the end of the course you will have a completed bodice toile (a garment made in calico fabric, used to adjust the pattern) showcasing some of the techniques learnt.
You will be provided with 2.5 meters of calico.
Calico is a plain-woven textile made from unbleached and often not fully processed cotton. The cost of the Calico is included in your fee.
How I'll learn
You will learn through a variety of methods, including:
- Formal instruction
- Individual tuition
- Practical demonstration
- Practical experience.
Please bring a basic sewing kit consisting of:
- Fabric scissors
- Small, paper scissors
- Tailors chalk or a fabric pencil
- Small reel of thread
- Hand sewing needles
- Tape measure
- You will also need a A4 display book and sticky labels. This will be used to store your samples.
