Simply Sewing 2: Fashion Design and Make will educate you in the fabulous, exciting world of fashion design. In 5 weeks this programme will take you step by step from your initial deign to constructing your completed garment.
You will cover the practical elements needed to help create your garment where you will be introduced to the principals of pattern cutting, garment construction and shown how to develop your ideas into unique patterns ready to assemble your chosen design.
Simply Sewing 2: Fashion Design and Make will run in series of 5 consecutive weeks, on Thursdays from 6:00–8:30pm.
What I'll learn
You will learn how to work with more challenging fabrics and explore advanced construction techniques and pattern adapting.
How I'll learn
You will select your chosen skirt design (under the guidance of the tutor) and be helped through the process of mastering new skills with the aim of bringing your design to an exciting final garment. A sample garment will be completed in 1/2 scale or full scale using calico.
How I'll be assessed
There is no assessment for this course.
We do expect a basic knowledge of using a domestic sew machine, industrial sewing machines are available to use.
