This course has been developed by engineering sectors to give full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment or to progress to higher level engineering qualifications.

For those aspiring to become professional engineers, supervisors or managers, this programme has been developed to give learners the skills and expertise needed to enter employment in the mechanical/electrical engineering sector or to progress to higher education.

How I'll learn

You will explore the scientific principles of engineering and develop the analytical and problem solving skills that are needed within an engineering environment.


How I'll be assessed

You will study the different sectors in engineering and their underlying processes systems and structures. You will work on your English, maths and ICT, and develop a range of skills and techniques including personal skills and attributes to help you progress successfully.


Entry Requirements

Five GCSE at grade A*- C (4) or above including English Language, maths and science, a higher diploma at grade C or above or Merit grade in a BTEC Level 2 diploma with functional skills at Level 2. You will be interviewed and must demonstrate self-motivation.
