Print Page

Prepare for the IELTS exam or improve your existing IELTS score with this programme.

These courses are for students who need IELTS to enter university or to prepare for Access to HE courses. They are also ideal if you are required to demonstrate a specific level of English to employers.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

On the IELTS course you will:

  • study for two hours per week in class on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8:30pm
  • learn with students from all over the world (maximum class size: 20 students)
  • prepare for the four components of the IELTS exam (reading, writing, listening and speaking) by studying these skills, along with the necessary grammar and vocabulary, with a qualified and experienced teacher
  • get exam practice to help you to become familiar with the exam format

How I'll learn

Our evening courses run three times per year, with start dates in September, January and April.

You are expected to complete extra study outside of class. Teaching materials are provided.

How I'll be assessed

If you are interested in taking the IELTS examination, we can help you to book your test at an IELTS Testing Centre. The IELTS examination costs approximately £155 (in 2017).

If English is not your first language and you need to improve your English language skills so that you can study or find work, we can help you."
