Learn how to make a beautiful Sterling Silver ring in a day!

On this one-day workshop you will learn how to cut, shape, solder, file and polish silver; and will be able to wear your finished piece home!

City of Oxford College offers a range of jewellery courses. These courses might be of particular interest to develop what you learned on this workshop.

What I'll learn

You will learn traditional jewellery making techniques, which include:

  • Ring sizing
  • Cutting
  • Filing
  • Shaping
  • Soldering
  • Polishing


How I'll learn

Knowledge in safe working practices and a skill-set of traditional jewellery making techniques, which can be applied to future projects if you wish to pursue jewellery making.


Entry Requirements

Please bring a notebook and pencil for jotting ring sizes etc.

Please wear flat shoes. No open toes or high heels are allowed as this can be a hazard in the workshop.

There will be a break for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch and a drink. 

You may wish to bring an apron/overall although this is not essential.
