This course is a fantastic and informative opportunity to work in experimental printmaking with support and advice from our experienced print tutor.

Find out more about the creative possibilities of working with the methods of monoprint and monotype!

Explore a variety of techniques and develop new ones.

The course will cover traditional and non-traditional printing methods and techniques including many of the following:

  • drypoint
  • monoprint
  • using overlays
  • stencils and masks
  • registering prints
  • mixed media printing
  • overprinting and layering
  • transparencies
  • colour
  • black and white

What I'll learn

You will learn about different approaches to monoprinting within Printmaking. You will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with them to find ways of incorporating them into your own personal work. You do not need to have previous experience, but those who do might enjoy the challenge of inventing a new technique.

You will gain an understanding of the processes involved and the knowledge and confidence to plan and experiment with your own prints. By the end of the course you will have a good understanding of how to apply several techniques, some of which may be practiced at home.

Printmaking can be messy and although aprons are provided it may be sensible to wear old clothes. High heels and open toed sandals are not allowed, please bring something low and that covers and protects the whole foot
