Fitness Instructing Level 2

If you’re starting your journey into a career as a fitness instructor – this course is a great move in the right direction.

Through it, you will develop excellent practical skills in exercise, leisure activities and fitness testing – also becoming an approved emergency first aider too.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

You will learn a range of units that cover

  • how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
  • health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
  • principles of exercise, fitness and health
  • anatomy and physiology for exercise

You will competently be able to assess clients, devise a personalised training programme and deliver a training session confidently.

 

How I'll learn

The course involves a mixture of theoretical and practically based work.

 

How I'll be assessed

Assessment is through a mixture of practical assessments, portfolio evidence and short answer examinations.

 

Entry Requirements

Four GCSE grade D (3) or above including English Language and Maths, or achievement on a Level 1 Foundation Pathway including Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1.
