It will give you excellent knowledge and experience to prepare you for working in the sport or leisure industry, or for progression onto a higher-level course at university.
Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

The qualification awarded is the Edexcel Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science. You also gain by improving the wider skills vital for success in further study or employment including self-confidence speaking in front of others working with others taking responsibility and managing your time. By the end of the course you will have benefited from a valuable insight into future careers open to you.
Approximately 60% of your time at college is classroom-based with an active approach to the theory subjects. The remainder of the time will be practical activities in the sports hall or gym such as fitness coaching or practical sport. A strong emphasis of the practical sessions is placed on working and learning with others and you are regularly set tasks to complete in partnership with other students. You also need to be able to work independently and take responsibility for your own learning. Throughout the course you have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills by participating in community activities and schools partnerships. You will also have ongoing tutorial support to help you achieve the qualification.
You will have access to the College Gym, a science lab and access to an indoor sport hall at Reading University.
Individual learning targets are set each term and you receive regular feedback on your progress in meeting these targets. Formal assessment is through assignments projects presentations and practical assessments which are set at regular intervals throughout the course. The functional skills in English maths or ICT is assessed by an external exam.

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
The fee for international students for the 2019 entrance is £6,300 per year.
