Print Page If you plan to pursue a career in the motor vehicle industry, specifically working with classic vehicles, then this is the course for you.
According to research by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, there is a need for around 1,000 new apprentices in classic vehicle restoration across the UK.
This course, based at City of Oxford College's specialist Technology Campus, is designed to give you a broad base of knowledge and experience to prepare you for working within the industry and focuses on developing the particular skills and knowledge required for older ‘classic’ vehicles.

What I'll learn
You will develop the knowledge and skills required to carry out many tasks related to motor vehicle restoration, maintenance and repair. You will also be given an insight into the profession and valuable insight into future careers open to you.
On successful completion of the course you can progress to a more advanced apprenticeship or can progress within the workplace into related employment.
How I'll learn
You will spend 1-2 days a week in college participating in classroom and practical-based sessions. The other 3-4 days will be spent in the workplace, putting what you have learned into practice.
You will be expected to build a portfolio with evidence you have collected in the workplace.
An assessor will visit your workplace to observe your working practices. All functional skills (English and maths) will be delivered at college within your day release.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements will be confirmed on application and will depend on experience within the sector, as well as formal qualifications.
