Study for work in the childcare and education sector and gain real work experience in caring for children.  This full time course is designed for those that have an interest in a career with young children. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic work place situations and develop a range of skills and personal qualities essential for working with young children.

What I'll learn

The course is full time with 2 work-based placements in Early Years Settings. The course will be assessed through written assignment tasks and external exams.

  • Core and mandatory units include:  
  • Patterns of development  
  • Promoting Children’s development through play  
  • The principles of Early Years Practice
  • Promoting Children’s Positive behaviour.

 

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs to include a Grade D/3 in English language and minimum of 3 grades E/2 in other subjects. You will also require a positive reference. If you do not have a grade C/4 in GCSE English language and maths you will be required to be working towards achieving this alongside your course.
We require all learners studying to work with young children to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check prior to starting manditory work experience placements.
