Pottery/Ceramics: 10 weeks (Tuesday)

Print Page

This 10 week Pottery/ Ceramics course is offering you the opportunity to improve your knowledge and skills in all things ceramic.

We will tailor the sessions to your level, from beginner to advanced. For beginners, the course will cover the two main ways of making pots, together with a range of different ways to decorate them. For the more experienced, the course will allow you the space and support to refine your skills, develop your own style and find a way out from a rut.

We have a well equipped studio with a large capacity kiln and slab roller.

Please note that this course does not run during the half term/ end of term breaks.

What I'll learn

You will gain the knowledge to develop your ceramics/ pottery skills, along with the confidence to work independently.

How I'll learn

Depending where you are on the experience curve, you will learn to make different styles of pots using pinching, coiling, slab making and throwing methods - together with a range of surface decorative techniques.

For more experienced students, we will work on specific areas you would like to improve.

How I'll be assessed

There are no formal assessments.

Entry Requirements

Open mind, enthusiasm, an apron, a notebook and some hand cream are needed to take part in this course.

All levels of experience will be catered for. You are advised to wear old clothes or bring an overall because working with clay can get messy.
